The war on drugs in the Commonwealth of Virginia took a big step forward at the start of 2013.
Law enforcement officers from every major community is Tazewell County came together on Monday, Jan. 28 to make a major announcement at city hall in Bluefield, Va. They said that 31 arrests were made on indictments from the Jan. 8 Grand Jury. The arrests were all for people accused of narcotics charges.
The announcement was made at a news conference at 2 p.m. Members of the Virginia State Police, Tazewell County Sheriff's Office, Richlands, Tazewell and Bluefield Police Departments helped make the arrests possible. Prosecuting Attorney Dennis Lee was also there to talk about the arrests.
The charges range from selling and distributing drugs, most of which were pills. Another drug round up is expected in the future.
