January has been a violent month to start out 2013. There were two
murders in Oak Hill since Jan. 18. One of those cases moved forward in
the courts just over a week after an arrest was made.
The Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney's Office said that a preliminary
hearing was held on Monday, Jan. 28 for Terreque Gray. Gray is charged
with murder. He allegedly shot and killed Maurice McCain, 25, on Friday,
Jan. 18 at a home on Mahan Street.
Gray's case was transferred from magistrate court to circuit court.
Now the case will go before the Grand Jury. That will be in May if the
investigation is complete, otherwise the case will be heard by the September
Grand Jury.
