A local high school teacher has resigned after several female students alleged sexual misconduct, according to the Mercer County Superintendent.  59News broke the story about the misconduct earlier this month.

Mercer County School Superintendent Deborah Akers confirms with 59News that Jonathan Kirk, a physical education and health teacher for PikeView High School, resigned earlier this week.

An investigation is being conducted by West Virginia State Police.
