RONCEVERTE -

Greenbrier County is one of the counties hardest hit by the flood waters.

The Greenbrier River is out of its banks and now it's causing some problems for residents who live alongside it. A group of spectators in Ronceverte gazed on as water levels continued rise. They snapped a few photos, the crowd favorite the amputate theater engulfed by the high tide.

"It's just insane. Well I think the last time it was a lot bigger than this, last year it was a little bigger than this. Every time I see it, it is just crazy," Sam Laxton of Ronceverte said.

"That would be awesome if it was like that in the summer, plenty of room to swim," Gabriella Carver.

Moments after our crews interviews at Ronceverte Island park two ambulances flew by! We followed them to River Road and found out a car being pulled into the river, two people trapped inside.  The water was just too deep to continue on River Road, so our crews followed emergency service officials up and over the mountain to get to the car.

When our crews arrived, a silver Subaru and the two inside were already rescued.  An EMS from Fairlea lived nearby and was able to pull the car out by using a chain. The lesson to be learned, never try to drive over rushing water.
