One business in Greenbrier County is getting a financial boost after winning a local competition.
McDowell County Law enforcement officers have been working to curb the illegal drug trade. Their efforts landed another pair of alleged drug traffickers behind bars on Friday, Feb. 1
According to a release The McDowell County Sheriff's Office and the Southern Regional DRug and Violent Crime Task Force conducted a search warrant at a home in the Warriormine area of War. While searching the home officials said they found prescription drugs and undisclosed amount of cash.
Officer and deputies arrested Joseph Morefield and Debra Walker Morefield on a variety of charges. Joseph Morefield faces charges of possession with intent to distribute schedule 3 and schedule 4 controlled substance. He also faces a charge of conspiracy to commit a felony. Debra Morefield also faces charges of possession with intent to deliver and felony conspiracy. The two are being held in the McDowell County Holding Unit while they await arraignment.
Officers said the case is still under investigation.
