RALEIGH COUNTY -

11 break-ins have been reported in Shady Spring since December.

Now the community has ganged up and are trying to put the crooks behind bars. The Neighborhood Watch of Shady Spring routinely get together.

Over $2,000 worth of jewelry and family heirlooms were stolen from Jason Croy and his family.

"They were definitely after jewelry. That's basically all that was stolen. The funny thing was they knew what to look for. We had three different jewelry boxes, and they rummaged through all three and took what the wanted. I guess the rest wasn't good enough for them. They had to put their hands over my bible to get to one of them so hopefully that got to their conscience a little bit," said Jason Croy.

Head of the Neighborhood Watch, Von Moye, told 59 News now the crooks are stealing weapons and targeting women and the elderly. 59 News is keeping up with these break-ins and will be bringing you more details in the next few days.
