LEWISBURG -

Anyone planning to start college classes soon or even thinking about it is invited to an event this Sunday to learn how to get free money and a chance to win an Ipad.
Sunday, Feb. 10 in Lewisburg, you can complete your financial aid paperwork and tax forms at the College Goal Sunday at New River Community and Technical College.
The event takes place at 1 p.m. for financial aid paperwork and noon for tax forms.

Those planning to attend should bring their Social Security numbers, 2012 federal tax return, W-2, other income records and a valid ID.  Beginning at noon, a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) team will be available to help any student or parent with 2012 income tax preparation.
Organizers say it's important for everyone thinking about college to know about financial aid opportunities.
Student Program Advisor Donna Polk said, "You can't get any better than coming to an event like this. We have financial aid experts on hand that are going to answer your questions they have someone here who can walk you through the process and make sure you get the information entered correctly so as not to delay your aid."
The GVC is one of several sites in West Virginia hosting the event this year.  Other locations within the New River Community and Technical College service area include Bluefield State College, Concord University and the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center in Beaver.
