    The Raleigh County Sheriff's office responded to a shooting at a party just outside of Beckley early Sunday morning. As a result of these gunshots, Roland Howard Frazier, 23, was hit and later died.

    After 19 year-old Tyrell Smith was shot twice on his hip and wrist, the suspects have been found. Detective Bragg with the Beckley Police Department said they quickly got tips as to where the suspects were. Once they found the vehicle near Antonio street, there was a short pursuit, then police caught the suspects.

Anyone planning to start college classes soon or even thinking about it is invited to an event this Sunday to learn how to get free money and a chance to win an Ipad.
Sunday, Feb. 10 in Lewisburg, you can complete your financial aid paperwork and tax forms at the College Goal Sunday at New River Community and Technical College.
The event takes place at 1 p.m. for financial aid paperwork and noon for tax forms.
      College Goal Sunday is an opportunity for students and families to receive free confidential support in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Those planning to attend should bring their Social Security numbers, 2012 federal tax return, W-2, other income records and a valid ID.  Beginning at noon, a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) team will be available to help any student or parent with 2012 income tax preparation.
Organizers say it's important for everyone thinking about college to know about financial aid opportunities.
Student Program Advisor Donna Polk said, "You can't get any better than coming to an event like this. We have financial aid experts on hand that are going to answer your questions they have someone here who can walk you through the process and make sure you get the information entered correctly so as not to delay your aid."
The GVC is one of several sites in West Virginia hosting the event this year.  Other locations within the New River Community and Technical College service area include Bluefield State College, Concord University and the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center in Beaver. The event will take place from 1-4 p.m. in Greenbrier Hall, 101 Church Street in Lewisburg, W. Va.  Parking is available in the lot behind Greenbrier Hall.  Students do not have to be planning to attend New River to receive assistance.
