FAIRMONT (AP) — A Fairmont State University official is on unpaid administrative leave amid an investigation.

Fairmont State spokeswoman Amy Pellegrin says David Tamm was placed on paid leave on Jan. 28. His leave was changed to unpaid as of Thursday.

Tamm has served as vice president and the university's chief information officer since September 2009. He was hired in 2005 as director of network security and servers.

Pellegrin says the investigation is being conducted by campus police. She didn't have any details.

Tamm declined to comment Thursday.

The state auditor's website shows Tamm earned just under $114,000 in 2011.
