The Alderson-Broaddus College Music Department will present its biennial Concerto Competition Concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 in Wilcox Chapel on the A-B campus. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Five student winners selected in this year's competition will perform concerto movements or opera arias with professional orchestra consisting of members of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

This year's concert will also feature the Alderson-Broaddus College Concert Choir under the direction of Lauren Lindsey, assistant professor of music, in a performance of Serenade to Music by Ralph Vaughn-Williams, for choir and orchestra.

Coordinator of the concerto competition and conductor for the concerto portion of the concert is Timothy DeWitt, professor of music.

"The visiting orchestral musicians often comment that they especially enjoy this event, citing the acoustics of the performance venue (Wilcox Chapel) and especially the particularly high level of talent demonstrated by our students," said DeWitt.
