CHARLESTON, W.Va. —  The Tamarack Foundation, a statewide organization providing support and economic development opportunities to West Virginia's artisan entrepreneurs, has announced its 2013 Board of Directors.

Sue Jennings, artisan and owner of Preston County-based Allegheny Treenware, has been named chairperson of the Tamarack Foundation. She succeeds M. Ann Bradley, who has served on the Foundation's Board of Directors since its formation in 2003. Debby Sizemore, Senior Vice President at BB&T, Beckley, will serve as vice chairperson; Nikki Bowman, editor of WV LIVING magazine, Morgantown, will serve as secretary; and Harvey Peyton, Esq., Peyton Law Firm, Nitro, will serve as treasurer.

"This is already turning out to be an eventful year for the Tamarack Foundation," said Sally Barton, Executive Director. "Not only are we welcoming new board members and officers, but we are also celebrating our 10th year as an organization. It's a milestone for us — a small, grass roots charitable organization dedicated to serving artists and their small businesses in all 55 counties, and sharing their success stories in West Virginia and beyond."

Additional new officers for 2013 include Lois Crichton, First Vice President of Investments, Wells Fargo Advisors, Charleston, serving as finance chair; and, Mindy Walls, Senior Director of Corporate Development, Chesapeake Energy, Morgantown, serving as nominating chair. Newly elected board member Georgette Rashid George, President of E & G Inc., Charleston, joins fellow members-at-large including Patrick Gregg, Director, Office of Communications & Marketing, College of Business & Economics at West Virginia University, Morgantown; Mark Schwenk, Owner, Frog Valley Artisans, Berkeley Springs; Cela Burge, Esq., Cape Charles, Va.; and Jill Wilson, freelance writer, Cottageville, W.Va.

"I am confident that the tradition and future of West Virginia's artists will benefit from the dedication and support of all of our board members," Barton said. "I look forward to working closely with the entire board as we pursue the exciting opportunities that lie ahead."
