A cold case that connected West Virginia and Virginia heated up in 2012 when Police arrested Thomas Tait for the murder of his wife Karen.
Karen's body was found in the Greenbrier State Forest in 2002, but police were not able to identify the remains for 10 years. The case heated up last fall when her husband was charged with her death.
Thomas Tait pleaded guilty to murder in a Greenbrier County courtroom on Monday, Feb. 11. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison. That sentence will run concurrent with any sentence out of Virginia where Tait is facing child pornography charges in Waynesboro.
