CHARLESTON, WV -
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's National Training Center recently named a Public Service Commission employee as its Hazardous Materials Training Programs Instructor of the Year.
Reggie Bunner, a manager in the PSC's Transportation Enforcement Division, received the inaugural award.
The NTC provides training to more than 10,000 students nationwide every year, and it serves as the focal point for the development and delivery of motor carrier safety training to enhance federal, state and local government officials.
Bunner taught 14 hazardous materials classes for the NTC in the past year, and he volunteered almost twice as much as any other instructor, according to a news release from the PSC.
"The Transportation Enforcement Division is fortunate to have Reggie Bunner, not only as an instructor, but as the manager of our Training Section," PSC Transportation Enforcement Division Director Gary Edgell said in a news release. "This award reflects Reggie's commitment to the goal of saving lives on our highways."
Bunner said he is proud of his division's dedication.
Bunner has been a PSC transportation officer since 1992. He also serves as a regional chairperson for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Cooperative Hazardous Materials Enforcement Development Conference.
