Concord Defeats Chowan and St. Augustine's

KING, N.C. -

The Concord University baseball team earned two wins Friday night at the CIAA-WVIAC Challenge, defeating Chowan 13-4 and St. Augustine's 10-3. The victories improve The Mountain Lions' record to 2-3 this season.

After taking care of Chowan with the nine-run win to begin the day, Concord used a seven-run ninth inning to break a 3-3 tie and defeat St. Augustine's; giving CU a perfect day.

The Concord – St. Augustine's contest was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, but was moved up to Friday night due to expected inclement weather in area on Saturday. A box score and full recap of both games will be posted as statistics become available.

The Mountain Lions will look to even its record to 3-3 on the season with a win vs. Winston-Salem State 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
