Southern W.Va. Represents in State Wrestling Tournament

It was a historic day for Greenbrier West.

The Cavaliers clinched their first-ever team state wrestling title. West recorded 131.50 points. Independence finished in second with 119.50 points.

The Cavaliers also had three individual state champions. Dustin Yoakum edged out Independence's Colton Ward for the 132 lbs title.

Malik Boatwright finished the year undefeated for West, winning the 152 lbs championship.

West's captain, Tyler Parker, won the 170 lbs title, winning in the final 10 seconds.

Other AA/A schools performed well also.

Independence's Chris Clark won the 138 lbs title over Liberty's Cody Clifton.

Bluefield's Brandon Eldridge won the 160 lbs title over Greenbrier West's Marquise Frazier.

And in Class AAA, Shady Spring's Johnny Forren won the 120 lbs championship.
