Small businesses can benefit from the fact that prime contractors with the federal government are required to subcontract a portion of their awards with small business.

But working with large contractors or the federal government is challenging. How do they know who will work well with them and deliver on time with quality? How do small businesses know what is available for them to bid on and who needs their unique capabilities?

Dynamic Networking for Small Business, or DyNet, facilitates those introductions and increases the capabilities and skillsets of all businesses doing work with the federal government.

Now in its fourth year, DyNet is an annual event filled with workshops, training opportunities, guest speakers, support and educational organizations, prime contractors and small businesses.  The goal is for participants to create relationships, market their companies directly to the organizations that can utilize their business, learn how to be more effective in the industry and network with peers.

Last year, attendees of this matchmaking and training event represented eight states and 79 cities.  Also attending were 16 agencies, 18 business service providers, 25 prime contractors and 87 businesses.

Workshops in partnering and teaming, financial contract management, subs and primes, lines of credit and how to create an elevator pitch are just some of the workshops that are available to attendees.

This year's event will be held March 27, 2013 in the Robert H. Mollohan Research Building at I-79 Technology Park in Fairmont.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. making it a day-trip opportunity for many.  There is no cost to attend and lunch is provided.

Register online or, for more information, contact Deana Keener at (304) 680-7932 or i79dc.org@gmail.com.

DyNet is hosted by I-79 Development Council in participation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntington District, the U.S. Small Business Administration West Virginia District Office and the U. S. Small Business Administration Office of Government Contracting.
