Wyoming County prosecutor Rick Staton is stepping down to take a state administrative job.
Staton tells The Register-Herald that he has been appointed as deputy secretary of the Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety. He will leave the prosecutor's office on March 16.
Staton says it was a difficult decision but it's hard to say no to the governor when he calls and asks you to serve.
