An investigation into drug trafficking in Fayette County leads to a pair of arrests.
Law enforcement officers from the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force worked with Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies on the investigation. They learned that two people from Nicholas County were trying to buy a large amount of prescription pills, specifically Roxycodone.
The drug task force agents used a confidential informants to make the sale at a the Holiday Lodge in Oak Hill on Wednesday, Feb. 27. They met with Eddie Ray Davis, 31, of Mt. Lookout and Hannah Sebert, 26, of Summersville. According to a release from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Sebert and Davis paid $4,745 for 200 Roxycodone pills.
Davis and Sebert were arrested on charges of Possession with of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
"We are seeing an ever-increasing number of cases where drug dealer are trafficking prescription pills as opposed to more common street drugs," said Sheriff Steve Kessler. "Although cocaine, crack, heroin and methamphetamine are still out there, the majority of the cases we have been investigating in recent months have involved the illicit sale and distribution of prescription pain pills."
Sebert and Davis are being held in the Southern Regional Jail on $100,000 bond each. The case is still under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and the Central WV Drug Task Force.
