One Monroe County family is hoping to rebuild after flames ripped through their home. They are turning to social media to get back on their feet. Their names are Neal and Juanita Rhodes.
Harley Rhodes lives hundred of miles away in New Jersey from her parents Monroe County home. When Neal and Juanita called their daughter on February 17, it wasn't a call she ever imagined she would receive.
"I just broke down I was just getting out of work I couldn't drive I couldn't breath," Harley Rhodes, daughter said. Her parents were calling to let her know the family's country cottage had burned to the ground.
"Mom had laid down to take a nap and went to go put wood on the fire and she saw on ember falling down the entire top of the house was a blaze," Harley continued.
Harley said Neal and Juanita quickly grabbed their cherished belongings and family pets dashing out of the house. Luckily her parents made it out ok along with the family dog, and two cats. One cat perished in the fire. They were able to get some of their valuables safely outside but they were destinies several hours later after the fire re ignited.
Dads sword collection, moms cast iron skillets generations of memories gone and now a family is left homeless. Harley and her sister have created a fundraising campaign to help their parents rebuild their beloved home.

Harley tells our crews, the most upsetting loss, is the family's rocking chair. She said it was used by 4 generations of her family.
