The 59 News viewing area may not be out of the clear just yet when it comes to winter weather. Old Man winter will be sending a little more our way on Thursday and Friday. But will this last round of severe weather, be the last for Southern West Virginia? We hit the streets to find out.
March roars in like a lion out like a lamb, or so the saying goes. So far Southern West Virginia has seen several days of the white stuff in the first week of March. The big question on everyone's mind after waking up to several inches of snow, is this the last snowfall to hit our area?
"I doubt it though, I think that weather is as predictable as politics," traveler Todd Ristaum of Roanoke said.
"Well being from a little north from here, we usually get one more good one before the end of winter," Mark McCahan of Akron, Ohio commented.
The grass is peaking out of the snow, a welcome sign spring may be on the way. But as some travelers said they are not optimistic warmer weather is headed this direction. But some folks are thinking positive, bring on spring!
What Sandra Sholer a traveler from North Carolina loves about the spring time is the flowers and the new start to it all. She said, we think it will be the last snowfall, at least, "we hope so," Sholer exclaimed.
"I hope so, I doubt it, but I hope so. It is March, but it just feels like a good time for snow. I'm ready for spring," Brent Blair of Sandstone said.
Storm Tracker 59 Meteorologists are predicting a warm-up for the weekend, but with 3 more weeks left in March, will this lion turn into a lamb?
