HINTON -

The man that police said set fires that left dozens of people homeless in Hinton was back in court on Friday, March 8.

Billy Joe Gill was indicted by the Summers County Grand Jury earlier this week on two counts of First Degree Arson and two counts of Attempted Murder.  He went back before a circuit judge to ask for a reduction in bond which was set at $200,000.  The judge agreed to cut that amount in half to $100,000.

Gill also asked for a change of venue for the trial because of the media attention the fires have received.  The judge denied the change, but officials said there could be another motion to change the location of the trial in the future.

A pre-trial hearing has been set for May 3, and right now the trial is set to begin on May 22.
