Man caught breaking into Oceana Middle School

The Oceana Police Department caught a man who broke into Oceana Middle School during the early morning hours of Monday, March 11.

Police were alerted to the break-in at the school at 5:47 a.m.  Jason Goodwin, 34, of Oceana was caught inside the office of the school.  He is facing a list of charges including Breaking and Entering and Petit Larceny. Investigators tell 59News that this is the fourth time Goodwin has been arrested for Breaking and Entering.  He was arrested a couple of weeks ago for a pair of break-ins at Mike's Automotive that happened in January and February.  Police said that he confessed to those crimes.

Assistant Oceana Police Chief R.L. Paynter was the investigating officer in the break-in and made the arrest.  Goodwin will be arraigned and taken to the Southern Regional Jail
