CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin is recognizing March as Nutrition Month in West Virginia.

Media outlets report that Tomblin made the proclamation on Monday afternoon at a reception at the Governor's Mansion featuring members of the West Virginia Dietetic Association.

Health experts say eating a well-balanced diet and cutting back on sugar and salt will make a big difference in your overall health.

March also is National Nutrition Month. It started back in 1980 and was created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
