A traffic stop in Fayette County on Monday, March 11 leads to a big break in a drug case.
Deputies said that they stopped a 2014 Cadillac Escalade in the Boomer area near the post office on U.S. Route 60. Inside were Jason D. Payne and Amanda K Payne, both 31 of Marmet in Kanawha County and Brittany L. Ramsey, 25, of Cedar Grove in Kanawha County. During the investigation deputies found Roxycodone pills that, according to a release, the three had illegally. One of the three also had a large amount of money.
Jason Payne has been charged with a felony county of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance and a felony count of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. Amanda Payne and Brittany Ramsey face similar charges. All three were taken to the Southern Regional Jail until they could be arraigned.
Investigators were also able to get enough information during the arrest to get a search warrant for a nearby residence that is allegedly connected to the illegal sale of narcotics. When Deputies searched the home owned by Macon Fragale they found what is being called "a substantial sum of cash money." Investigators said they believe the money comes from drug sales.
Both the search of the home and the arrest of the three Kanawha County residents are still under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.
