Wright, Fertig Lead CU at Coastal Carolina

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -

Denver Wright posted three top-15 performances and Jeff Fertig placed sixth in the high jump to lead the Concord University men's track and field team at the Coastal Carolina Invitational Saturday.

Wright's top finish was an eighth-place showing in the 100-meter dash at 11.10 seconds. Wright also produced a pair of 11th-place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (16.06 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (22.40 seconds).

After just missing qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championship meet, Fertig cleared 1.95 meters in the high jump to come in sixth place.

Robby Peters clocked a time of 10:01.86 in the 3,000-meter Steeple Chase to finish in 12th place.

Sterling Snyder rounded out Concord's top performances with a 22nd-place finish in the 3,000-meter run at 9:15.78.

Other competitors for Concord Saturday included Nick Lucento (3,000-meters / 28th – 9:26.69) and Craig Pritt (800-meters / 33rd – 2:06.54).

Concord returns to action March 16 at Coastal Carolina's Shamrock Invitational.
