The case against a man charged with shooting two women at a community college inside a Christiansburg mall is headed to a grand jury.
Collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the United States Post Office results in a drug arrest on Friday, March 22.
Edward Pannell, 27, of Doraville, Ga. was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to deliver after he accepted delivery of a package that contained 14 bags of Marijuana. Detectives said that the 8-pounds package was worth around $50,000.
The drug unit with the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office was alerted to the package by the Charleston Metro Drug Task Force. Detectives stepped in at that point to make a controlled delivery of the package, which lead them to Pannell.
Pannell was arrested and arraigned before Raleigh County Magistrate Humphrey. His bond was set at 75,000.
The arrest was made through the combined efforts of the Raleigh County Drug Unit, the Metro Drug Task Force, Beckley Police Department, West Virginia State Police and the United States Postal Inspector.
