Route 19 reopens hours after accident

It wasn't until the afternoon hours of Monday, April 1 that highway workers were able to clear an accident that closed both southbound lanes of Route 19 through Oak Hill.

Traffic is now flowing where WV Route 16 crossed over the roadway at the Main St. bridge after a tractor-trailer hit the overpass at around 6 a.m.


59News crews have found out that one lane is open on Route 19 through Oak Hill after an accident that happened on Monday, April 1.


The West Virginia Department of Transportation is still reporting that the southbound lanes are closed on Route 19 near Oak Hill on Monday, April 1.  The closure was caused by a tractor-trailer that reportedly hit the Main St. bridge.


According to the West Virginia Department of Transportation there is an accident on Route 19 that is trying up traffic.

 

Both southbound lanes of Route 19 are closed due to an accident that happened earlier this morning at the Main Street bridge in Oak Hill.  This is also WV Route 16. The DOT said clearing is in progress and that drivers should expect delays. The accident was reportedly caused by a tractor-trailer hitting the bridge at around 6 a.m.
