    In Mercer County a man facing disturbing charges involving children appeared in court Friday, August 22 for a plea hearing.Joseph Inman pleaded guilty to 64 counts of possession of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.He is facing two to ten years and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.He will be sentenced in October.He was arrested back in December of last year.

    Crews responded to the scene of a house fire in Raysal, McDowell County at around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, August 22. The house was next to the State Road Garage and near the car wash as you're going towards Bartley.The Raysal Fire Department, Bradshaw Fire Department and the War Fire Department all responded to the scene. UPDATE:

Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested Matthew Paul Gravely, 29, of Hilltop on murder charges.  He is accused of killing Gary Wayne Smith, 22, also of Hilltop.

A release from Sheriff Steve Kessler said that deputies who arrived at the Mountainair Mobile Home Park at 2 a.m. identified Gravely as the suspect when he came out of a home with a handgun.  Gravely reportedly followed instructions from the deputies to drop the weapon and was arrested without incident.

Investigators said that the two men were neighbors and the shooting started with a fight between them.  Deputies said two bullets were fired from the gun and at least one of those hit Smith.

The incident is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Department.  Anyone with information on what happened is asked to call the detective bureau at 304-574-4216.


Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies were on the scene of a shooting during the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 2.  The incident happened at around 2 a.m. at the Mountainair Mobile Home Park in Glen Jean.

One person was taken to Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill and another was taken into custody by Sheriff's Deputies.  A release from the Sheriff's Office at around 6 a.m. on Wednesday stated that the victim had died.

Investigators said that the two men were acquaintances and had been arguing earlier.  The names of the victim and the suspect have not been released at this time.  59News is following this story and will bring you updates as they become available.-
