Concord University baseball standout Joe Camp was named the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week Monday after an impressive week at the plate for the redshirt freshman designated hitter.

Camp led the Mountain Lions to a 5-0 week after going 11-for-17 (.647) with six runs, 11 RBI, two home runs and three doubles while slugging 1.176 and producing an on-base percentage of .684.

The Potomac, Md. native registered hits in all five games with the highlight being a 3-for-4, two-home run, five-RBI outing against Ohio Valley.

Camp started the week with two hits in three at-bats in an 11-4 win against Alderson-Broaddus. He added two more RBI off of a pinch-hit single in game two against the Battlers, a 13-11 CU victory.

Following a 1-for-4 game in Concord's series-opening win against Ohio Valley on March 29, Camp regrouped to finish out the weekend with a pair of monster games against the Fighting Scots in a doubleheader on March 30.

Camp began the day with his two-home run performance in a 17-1 Concord win and followed it up with an equally impressive 4-for-5, three-RBI, two-double outing in game two's 17-13 triumph.

For the season, Camp has started 14 of 24 games played and is batting .417 (25-for-60) with 16 runs scored, three home runs, 19 RBI and a .479 on-base percentage.

Concord (17-13, 12-5 WVIAC) will play a non-conference game at King College 3:00 p.m. Wednesday before returning home for a three-game weekend series vs. Charleston.
