Concord Places Third, Evan Muscari Second at WVIAC Southern Regional

SOUTH CHARLESTON -

Evan Muscari finished two shots back of medalist honors and the Concord University men's golf team finished tied for third at the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Southern Regional from the Berry Hills Country Club.

Concord finished tied with the University of Charleston with a two-round total of 634, just four shots back of Bluefield State and Davis & Elkins, who tied for first place. Bluefield State was crowned the tournament champions after winning a tiebreaker over the Senators.

Muscari led the way for Concord by shooting a 153 after rounds of 75 and 78 to finish two shots off of medalist Mark Pritt's total score of 111 (76/75) and in a three-way tie for second place.

Playing in his second tournament of the year, Patrik Leveau was Concord's second finisher at 16th overall with a score of 160 (82/78).

Stefan Labuschagne and Nathaniel Begley finished tied for 19th and tied for 22nd with respective scores of 163 (87/76) and 164 (80/84).

Rounding out Concord's competitors at the regional tournament was Matt Morgan, who finished tied for 31st with a two-round total of 168 (81/87).

Concord will be back in action April 7-8 at the West Chester University's Dr. Ed Cottrell Invitational.
