HUNTINGTON – Mark Bugher, president and CEO of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, has informed the Chamber's executive committee he intends to retire this year.

Chamber Board Chairman John Spoor, the president of Huntington-based State Electric Supply Co., has appointed a search committee to find a new president.

"It will be very difficult to replace Mark with someone that has his unique business experience and background," Spoor said. "Mark has been our president and CEO since April 2008. Under his leadership, the Chamber has become an influential organization at the local, state, and federal level."

Spoor said the search for a new president will be regional in nature.

"Familiarity with the regional business and political community will be a priority," he said.

No date has been established for Bugher's retirement, Spoor said.

"Although he is contracted through the end of 2013, Mark has indicated he will be flexible on the actual date and assist in a smooth transition in leadership."
