The West Virginia Turnpike Authority has announced several areas where travelers may run into delays over the week of Monday, April 15 to Thursday, April 18.

According to a news release there are several major paving projects under way. The road construction will be happening during the overnight hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.  The projects will require lanes to be closed and there could be delays.

Here is a look at where the projects are planned:

Raleigh County:

Interstate 64/77 interchange toward Beckley from Mile Marker 39 to 43.5 Northbound.

Interstate 64/77 interchange toward Ghent from Mile Marker 35 to 30 Southbound.

Route 19 near North Beckley at Mile Marker 47.5 Northbound.

Fayette County:

Between Mossy and Mahan at Mile Markers 61 Northbound and 63 Southbound.

Kanawha County:

Mahan to Sharon from Mile Marker 66 to Mile Marker 75 Northbound.

Near Marmet form at Mile Markers 89 and 90 in the North and Southbound lanes.

Officials with the West Virginia Department of Transportation also announced that there will be line painting along the entire West Virginia Turnpike.  That will also be causing some lane closures.  Drivers are warned to use caution in the construction areas.  A complete look at all the planned construction projects can be viewed at the West Virginia Turnpike Authority's web site.  For unplanned delays and incidents or a look at the West Virginia highway cameras check out wv511.org.
