A two-day conference of West Virginia's Directors of Senior and Community Services began at Twin Falls State Park on Wednesday, April 17.

Directors of aging programs and senior centers from across West Virginia will be attending the Spring Conference at Twin Falls, which is located in Pineville.  Several well known speakers are scheduled to speak to the directors according to a release from the Raleigh County Commission on Aging.

Among the speakers was Ellie Hollander, the national President and CEO of the Meals on Wheels Association of America.  She spoke at a luncheon on Wednesday about the impact of the economy and Federal legislation on the ability of Senior Program Agencies to continue providing meals to senior citizens.  Another guest speaker will appear at the conference banquet on Thursday, April 18.  That will be Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin's Chief Senior Advisor, Ramey Barker.  The banquet starts at 6:30 p.m.
