The contents of four different barrels filled with two types of chemicals are leaking on Route 19 near the North Beckley exit of Interstate 77.  The leak was caused by a tractor trailer accident near the toll booth.

Assistant Fire Chief Bobby Palmer with the Bradley Prosperity Fire Department said the chemical leaking is not hazardous.  However, due to the extent of the leak added with the potential dangers, firefighters are taking precautions and another HAZMAT team from Roanoke is on its way to the scene to assist in the decontamination process. Right now the W.E.L. HAZMAT team is on scene.  Another tractor trailer with the same company, USF Holland, is transferring the remaining barrels.

JanCare ambulance is on scene as a precaution. The call came in just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24.
