GLEN DANIEL -

"My brother threw a no hitter!" Joey Lacek shouted to the crowd after realizing what his younger brother Jake just accomplished.  Liberty High School baseball team beat PikeView Tuesday 1-0, but for their family it was more than just a win.

It was a good moment for someone else on the field too, Matt Lacek, Joey and Jake's father is an assistant coach for the Raiders. "I think he was more excited than anyone else, watching his son throw a no hitter," Joey said about his dad.  Jake also recounted his father's reaction, "he gave me a high five and hugged me, told me I did a great job."

Joey had a pretty good game too.  The Concord signee went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and the game's only RBI.

Though their time together on  the same team will end this season, Joey plans to follow in his fathers footsteps and help coach next year.

Whether it's playing or coaching, or doing both, for the Lasek's baseball will continue to be a family affair.
