    State Troopers out of Princeton, WV confirmed that they are looking for Christopher Lee Tolliver, a registered sex offender. Tolliver was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on Tuesday Aug. 19, 2014, but failed to show up.

    A fire late Thursday night leaves a family in McDowell County homeless. Everyone was able to get out of the home in Raysal safely, but a friend of the family, who saved their dog, told us it was a very close call.

UPDATE:

The wake for Officer Shaun Wellman was scheduled for Wednesday, May 8 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral was scheduled for Thursday, May 9 at 11 a.m. Both will be held at Fanning Funeral Home in Welch.

 


A member of the Welch Police Department has died.

 

Officer Shaun Wellman, 32, of Big Sandy, died this weekend after he was hurt in an ATV accident. The accident happened on Belcher Mountain, Friday night.

He was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center via HealthNet.

State police are investigating the crash.   There is a possibility Wellman lost control of this ATV while trying to avoid hitting a dog.

Wellman served as a member of the Welch police department for several years.

There is no word on funeral arrangements at this point.
