    Three people are in the hospital Tuesday night after a shooting along Antonio Avenue in Beckley.Police said around 5 PM two men rushed up to a basketball game on a court near an apartment complex and started firing guns.Three men suffered injuries as a result.The three men were taken to a nearby hospital.Detective Morgan Bragg with Beckley Police said one man was in surgery around 6 PM Tuesday night.The other two men were in stable condition. More than half a million dollars was discovered in a drug investigation out of Wyoming County. 

Delbert Lester, 55, of McGraws was arrested on Thursday, May 9.  Only a week later, deputies cracked a safe that was discovered in Lester's home.  Inside the safe investigators discovered $570,000 in cash, as well as 30 guns.  That brought the total amount of cash and weapons discovered in the home to $580,000 and 100 guns.

Deputies said that the when the safe was discovered, no one in the home could remember the combination. 

The investigation is still going on.  It is being conducted by the Southern Violent Crime and Drug Task Force and the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department.

 


Sheriff's Deputies in Wyoming County took another step forward in their efforts to stop the illegal sale of prescription drugs.

 

Wyoming County Sheriff's Deputies teamed up with the Southern Violent Crime and Drug Task Force to search a home in the McGraws area of the county on Thursday, May 9.  While they were there, investigators discovered $10,000 in case, 400 prescription pills and 70 weapons. 

Delbert Lester, 55, who owns the home was arrested and charged with eight counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.  He was arraigned and taken to the Southern Regional Jail.  His bond is set at $200,000.
