CASHMERE -

The West Virginia Division of Highways announced that they will be replacing a bridge in Monroe County over the week of May 13.

Residents of Cashmere may find themselves turned around if they travel along Adair Road (County Route 31/6) near Cashmere.  According to the WV DOH District 9 maintenance engineer, James Moore, the Division of Highways will be replacing a bridge.

Crews closed the road at 7 a.m. on Monday.  It is expected to remain closed until 5 p.m. on Friday, May 17.  While the construction is going on, residents of the area are being told they should get on Adair Road from US 219 to Rich Creek Valley Road (County Route 219/23).  Drivers should also plan for delays in their commute.

The West Virginia Division of Highways is planning to wrap up the project on Friday.  That schedule could be extended if bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances come up to delay the schedule.
