Making sure you're not a target of arson

Posted: Updated:

Fire investigators with the West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office said arsons are on the rise in the mountain state.  They say last year, more than 750 arsons were reported.

Arson investigators say there are things you can do to make sure your home is not a target for an arson.

They said vacant homes should be cleaned up and locked.  They also said your home should be locked at all times and that you should keep doors and windows locked, and that the outside of your home should be lit.

Investigators also recommend cleaning brush and trash from around your home.
