W.Va. 'Ride of Silence' to honor fallen bikers

A silent ride is planned in Charleston to honor the memory of bicyclists in West Virginia and elsewhere who have been killed on the roads.

The "Ride of Silence" Wednesday is sponsored by the Mountain State Wheelers Bicycle Club. The club says at least a couple bike riders lost their lives in recent years in the state, including one who was a triathlete who was struck by a driver who was on a cellphone and a college student who was struck by a drunken driver.

The silent ride will begin at the Capitol Complex following words of remembrance. Communication will be by hand signals only.
