Posted: Updated:

An investigation is under way after a 13-year-old student at Trap Hill Middle School allegedly received sexually explicit images and text messages from a female teacher.

Jim Brown, Raleigh County superintendent of schools, has reported several agencies are investigating.  According to Brett Preston of Preston & Salango, PLLC., the 13-year-old boy's representative, his client had to be pulled out of school by his parents because he received "inappropriate and sexually explicit photographs and text messages" from his female teacher.

According to Preston, the teen was removed from school back in February or March, 2013 because of the incident.  Preston says the parents are currently home-schooling the student to ensure he is protected.

A release issued by the Board of Education confirmed the following information:

·  Certain accusations of inappropriate communications with a student were made against a Raleigh County Schools employee.

·  The accused employee was placed on paid leave immediately after these allegations were brought to the Board's attention and this employee shall remain on leave until the investigation into this matter has been completed at which time appropriate action shall be taken.

·  No student was removed from Raleigh County Schools by any school official.

·  The school system's investigation of this matter is ongoing.

·  The Raleigh County State Trooper Detachment is one of the investigating agencies.

A copy of one of the texts that were allegedly sent to the student in question on Feb. 14 reads:

"Fighting urges to come over and touch the mood to be very bad lol"

"Are you upset with me did I push too far??"

"I'm sorry"

The incident is being investigated by the West Virginia State Police. Sgt. Amos with the Beckley Detachment of the West Virginia State Police has confirmed that the incident at Trap Hill Middle School is under investigation by Trooper Blevins. The Raleigh County Board of Education is also looking into the incident.
