Efforts to take care of roads needing repairs in southern West Virginia have expanded to Fayette County.

District Nine Maintenance Engineer, James Moore, announced that they will be working on County Route 17/12, also known as McKinney Road, in Minden.  The closure is required to allow road crews to make repairs.  While the closure is in effect, traffic will be routed onto County Route 17, also known as Minden Road.

The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5 and last through 4 p.m. on Friday, June 7.  While in effect, drivers are asked to watch for and obey all traffic control signs an use caution while traveling through the work zone.  Delays are expected, so commuters should plan for extra time or look for another way to get to their destinations. While the last day for the project is Friday, delays could extend the project schedule.
