Wrong Way Crash Update: Hall still in critical condition at CAMC

On Monday, the West Virginia State Police Detachment in Lewisburg cleared up some details about an accident that happened on Friday near Alta in Greenbrier County.

The accident was apparently caused by a driver who was headed in the wrong direction on Interstate 64.  Troopers told 59News that Brenda Snead, 56, of Moneta, Va. had somehow managed to get on the highway going the wrong direction.  Her car hit a vehicle driven by Charles Hall, 19, of Westerville, Ohio.  Brenda Snead was killed in the accident, Hall was left in critical condition.  Troopers said that he was in surgery on Monday at Charleston Area Medical Center.  He is still listing in critical condition in the intensive care unit at CAMC General on Tuesday.

The initial reports from State Police indicated that it was Hall who was on the Interstate 64 going the wrong direction.  Troopers corrected that information on Monday.  Reports were that Hall was on a cell phone during the accident, but there is no word on whether or not distracted driving was a factor in the accident.
