Posted: Updated:

One person is in the hospital and a utility pole is down in Coal City following a car accident that happened Saturday afternoon.

A woman lost control of her vehicle, flipped it, knocking over a utility pole and then went through the front yard fence of a house on Coal City Road, according to Raleigh County Emergency Services. A next door neighbor and an eye witness explains the accident to us.

The home owners told 59 News they were not home at the time of this accident but they were able to share that Saturday's incident is the 3rd time an accident has hit right in the same spot and every time it has broken their front yard fence.

"It's a straight stretch from the Dollar General store, with the first accident, they stuck their foot in the accelerator. It's only 30 mph through here, but they fly. When they hit that curb they lost their car. A lady and a 15-year-old girl took out the fence and tore up the side of their car. There was no one hurt but they were shaken up really badly," said next door neighbor, Liouse Kimberlin.

She told us how the accident happened this time around.

"With this one, I had been asleep and the dogs kept barking and barking. I got up and saw the ambulances and the traffic backed up. I saw her car with it's wheels up in the air. I had never seen that before. I have no idea how she flipped over but she must have hit it with a lot of power," Kimberlin said.

The woman was transported to an area hospital  and there is no word on the extent of her injuries. Raleigh County Sheriff's Corporal Grose is investigating this accident.
