BECKLEY -

A special Grand Jury met in Raleigh County on Tuesday and indicted three men on murder charges.  Even though the charges are the same, the cases are unrelated.

Jeremy Edgell, 24, of Beckley in facing a First Degree Murder Charge.  That charge comes from the stabbing death of 57-year-old John Lilly, who was killed on Dec. 17, 2012.  Lilly and Edgell had been roommates according to police.  The stabbing happened at a home on South Oakwood Avenue in Beckley.

Donald Dunn, 23, of Beckley was also indicted on a First Degree Murder Charge.  The grand jury also indicted him on two counts of Use of a Firearm and one count of attempted First Degree Murder.  Dunn is accused of killing his step-father, Mark McDermott, and trying to kill his mother.  The crime happened at the end of May at the couple's home on Overlook Drive in Stanaford.

Michael Stines, 46, of Beckley was indicted for Murder, Use of a Firearm and Wanton Endangerment.  Raleigh County Sheriff's Deputies said that Stines admitted to killing Christopher Ward at a home on Country Club Drive.  That is near the Grandview Overlook of the New River Gorge National River.  The shooting happened on April 18.  No charges were filed in the case initially.  Sheriff Steve Tanner told 59News at the time that deputies were looking to see if it was a case of self-defense.  Initial reports indicated that Stines and Ward had some kind of fight before the shooting happened.
