The names have been released for the two drivers thrown from their vehicle after rolling over Saturday on Route 19 near Glen Jean.

David Smith, the driver, died after the accident and the passenger, Donna Smith is in critical condition at Charleston Area Medical Center.

Two vehicles and four people in total were involved in the accident.  One car was not in terrible shape, but the other car was totaled.

Trooper Moore is investigating the cause of the accident. No word yet on the condition of the other people who were injured in the collision.


Two people were ejected from their vehicle Saturday around 4:19 p.m. on Route 19 in Glen Jean, Fayette County.

According to Fayette County Emergency Services, one male and one female were at first transported to Plateau Medical Center but are now being flown to CAMC.

Route 19 was closed for over an hour. General and Jan-Care ambulances responded.

Mt. Hope and Oak Hill fire departments were on scene as well as West Virginia State Police and Fayette County Sheriff's deputies.
