Families eligible for school clothing vouchers will be able to submit their applications to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Division of Family Assistance July 1.

Each eligible child will receive a $200 voucher that maybe used to purchase school clothing or piece goods for families who sew clothing for the children. The vouchers must be used at participating stores by Oct. 31, 2013.

Families who currently receive WV WORKS cash assistance will automatically receive school clothing vouchers for each of their school-aged children along with children in foster family care. Certain Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, recipients are automatically eligible for the vouchers as well.

Families who received school clothing vouchers in 2012 and who currently receive benefits from DHHR will receive applications in the mail throughout June.

Income limits are in place for other West Virginia families to be eligible, such as a family of four with a monthly income that does not exceed $1,963.

Call 1-877-716-1212 or visit wvinroads.org to obtain an application.

All applications must be received at DHHR by July 31, 2013.
