Multi-sport 7 year old athlete is state champion in Tae Kwon Do

You can say 7 year old Shamad Wynne-Thompson is quite the athlete

"I play soccer, baseball, basketball, and I'm signing up for football," said Wynne-Thompson.

But that's not all, add Tae Kwon Do to that list.  He's pretty good at it and he's got the hardware to prove it, sporting many trophies and metals.

He's placed in every tournament he's been in, and is only getting better.  In his most recent tournament at Virginia Beach he placed third in combat weapons and first in forms.

His trainer Robert Niday contributes his dedication to his mother Karmella.  "It's just keeping him focused and keeping him going and a lot of that is his mother.  His mother plays a big role in that because she is continuously involved in whatever he does."

No matter whether it's on the court, field, or on the mats, his biggest fan will always be there.

Shamad will continue juggling his sports but his love for Tae Kwon Do keeps him practicing, so one day he can reach his dream of becoming a ninth degree back belt.
