Rock legend Aerosmith lights up The Greenbrier Classic

Posted: Updated:

The concerts are just, if not even more popular than the golf when it comes to the annual Greenbrier Classic.

Saturday night rock legend Aerosmith was on the big stage at the state fairgrounds in Fairlea.  59News was joined by thousands of excited fans all at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds to enjoy rock-n-roll band Aerosmith.

These guys are one of the best selling American rock-n-roll bands of all time, with more than 150 million albums sold worldwide. They also hold the record for the most gold and multi-platinum albums by any American musical group and they're been selling out arenas all over the world for more than 40 years. A few of the thousands of fans spoke with us on why they were so excited to be at the Concert Series enjoying their favorite rock band.

"To have Aerosmith come to our backyards, wow. Theyre legendary. All generations love Aerosmith, so I'm super excited to see them," one fan told us.

"We're big time Aerosmith fans. So we're pretty excited about it. We've been fans for a very long time, so this will be pretty awesome," another lover of rock-n-roll said.

"This is the 3rd time we've seen Steven Tyler, we're so excited. And he's my hero," a long-time Aerosmith follower told 59News.

Hundreds and thousands of fans have flocked to Southern West Virginia for the 4th Annual PGA Tour, but 59News wanted to know, how many of you came just to see Aerosmith.
"My dad used to own a golf course, so I'm so glad golf is out of my life. I'm definitely here for the music," added another fan.
"Did you have a good time at the Classic? I did. Which were you more excited for, the Classic or the concert? The concert," answered a fan.
Greenbrier Classic or Aerosmith? Aerosmith.

Fans told us how far they drove to see their favorite rock band.
"I drove from Roanoke, Virginia," a traveler told us.
"For Aerosmith, I probably would have driven 5 or 6 hours," another die-hard fan said.

They told us their favorite Aerosmith song.
"'Sweet Emotion' is a classic and 'I don't want to miss a thing' from their new songs is good too," added another fan.
If you weren't able to make it out Saturday night, you can catch Aerosmith out on the road on their "Global Warming World Tour" promoting their latest hit album "Music from Another Dimension."
