The federal grand jury that met in Beckley on Tuesday indicted a man from Shady Spring on a two-counts of illegally owning a firearm.

Cameron Taylor, 24, of Shady Spring was charged with Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The charges come from an investigation where law enforcement officers discovered on April 24, that Taylor had a stolen AR-50 rifle that was stored at a home in White Oak.

Taylor is not allowed to have a gun because he was convicted in April 2010 on charges of Grand Larceny, Daytime Burglary and Nighttime Burglary.  The crimes were committed in Raleigh County.

The investigation was conducted by the West Virginia State Police.  Taylor could get 10 years in prison for each charge.  He is being held in the Southern Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond.
