59 News is learning the Governor's office is declaring a state of emergency for all 9 counties in Southern West Virginia, during the Boy Scout Jamboree.

It takes effect this Sunday, July 14th. Representatives with the Governor's Office said this is nothing to be concerned about.

They said  it's a common practice for any city hosting a large number of visitors to make this proclamation. Cities that hold events like the large festivals, concerts or sporting events will typically do this.

Officials said this is a proactive measure taken, in case of an emergency. It will allow for a more rapid response if needed and resources will be sent quicker, once again if needed.
